The Position

 

A suitably experienced and qualified craftsman is required to join a team of five in the Building Department, which works alongside the Joinery Department and contractors.  The position offers a varied workload within an attractive working environment.

 

The successful applicant will probably have City & Guilds qualifications and will be required to fulfil the following criteria:

 

v         Experienced and competent in a broad range of building skills including brickwork/blockwork, plastering, damp proofing, roofing, groundworks and drainage.

v         Self-motivated and capable of producing high quality work on a consistent basis.

v         Ability to work on own initiative and solve problems

v         Previous experience of Estate work would be an advantage.

 

Remuneration, Working Hours & Holiday Entitlement

 

The commencing salary will be £19,600 pa and will be reviewed annually; the first review being due in June 2013.

 

The successful applicant will be entitled to join the pension scheme in September 2012 and the employer will contribute 5% of salary.

 

Working hours are 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with a 15 minute break in the morning and a 30 minute break for lunch.  Some overtime may be available during the summer months.

 

Holiday entitlement is 21 working days in addition to Public Holidays.
