Frank Palmer, our Head Gamekeeper for 18 years, has made the decision to retire on 13 March 2024. The Garrowby Shoot is regarded as one of the best high pheasant shoots in the world and great credit must go to Frank for the huge part he has played in developing the shoot over the years. Frank’s energy and drive would be the envy of a man 30 years his junior the way he launches himself up the steep Garrowby dale sides is a sight to behold!

Frank will be missed, but we wish him and Sally well for their new life in York and for the adventures they are planning together.

The new Head Keeper will be Sam Russell, who steps up to the role from Beat Keeper.
