David Lord will be retiring from the position of Resident Agent on the 3^rd May 2024, after 38 years’ service to Halifax Estates.

David’s successor will be Edward Johnson, who will join us on the 5^th February 2024 for a 3 month handover period, before taking over in the role of Estates Director. Rebecca Oddy will continue as Assistant to Ed.

Ed grew up near Beverley where his father was a Resident Land Agent. He trained in Cumbria before spending 9 years as Assistant Agent on Roxburghe Estates in the Scottish Borders.

Ed and his school friend, Ed Hewetson, formed the chartered surveying firm Hewetson & Johnson in 2014 and they provide management services to numerous estates in Yorkshire and Cumbria.

Ed is 46 years old and is married to Mils who works for Gallagher, insuring racehorses. They have two children, Florence who is 3 yo and Milo who is 15 months.
